Jack Brewer Nails It with his latest article: Roswell Slides – It’s All Over but the Accountability

The Best and Latest Appropriate Response to the (NOT) Roswell Slides Debacle… from Jack Brewer:

Some excellent quotes:

More aspects of the mummy saga quickly fell into place, but beWITNESS promoter Jaime Maussan rejected the data at every turn. Don Schmitt published an apology for his participation in the event, but abruptly retracted it and continued promoting the story of the slides at events such as a MUFON conference in Pittsburgh. Tom Carey similarly rejected the mounting and conclusive evidence of the origin of the mummy, and he and partner Schmitt were enabled to continue spreading their unsupported story at such venues as Jimmy Church’s Fade to Black, where they were largely interpreted to have obscured facts and evaded relevant issues. Maussan offered a 5,000 USD cash bounty amid the nonsense for more photos of the mummy in question, which the floundering researchers continued to promote as an alien in spite of no proof whatsoever to support arriving at such an extreme conclusion.

Jorge Peredo seems to have been the first to locate an independent photo of the mummy when he did so about June 9.

Soon afterward, on June 12, researcher Shepherd Johnson obtained copies of numerous documents, including a photo of the mummy, from the National Park Service (NPS) via the Freedom of Information Act.

Those following the saga were not surprised when Maussan once again rejected the evidence presented.

Anthony Bragalia issued an apology – to the mummy …

Some voiced objections to Bragalia’s actions, viewing them as attempts to shirk accountability, as he was the most vocal and adamant of his fellow slides promoters throughout the saga. It was not well received in light of the facts that for months Bragalia passionately insisted he be believed that the slides and much of the related circumstances were vetted, and that due diligence had been carried out, yet it is now abundantly clear that obviously could not possibly have been the case.

Bragalia appeared unable to understand the mistakes he had made in failing to accurately differentiate between fact and supposition. It was also argued that he failed to understand why people object. It could be added that he is highly unlikely to find sympathy, even if he is now correct, among those who warned him all along that he was jumping to premature and irrational conclusions, yet he met those warnings with extremely questionable tactics and digging his heels in even deeper.

It is arguably very doubtful that the saga could have progressed as far as it did without blatant collusion. It is extremely difficult to accept anyone could view those images, with or without documents from the NPS, and not consider the most likely explanation to be a mummy in a museum setting, or, at the least, realize there is no reason whatsoever to assume an alien.

… they are highly unlikely to find a sympathetic ear among a UFO community that warned them all along to suspend judgment pending verifiable evidence, and they chose to reject those warnings with aggressive and self-righteous contempt. If the rest of us can be expected to figure out how to avoid jumping to unfounded and, in all honesty, idiotic conclusions, so can they.

Thank you Jack for keeping the heat on these failed “researchers.”

Unraveling The Secrets

SMiles Lewis will be on Tim Beckley’s show tonight: Unraveling the Secrets on the PSN-Radio Network at 11pm CST.

UnravelingtheSecrets-2015

UNRAVELING THE SECRETS – EPISODE # 16
JUNE 6, 2015 on www.PSN-Radio.com / www.UnravelingTheSecrets.com

Hosts:
TIM BECKLEY AND CARLA ANDERSON
Producer And Engineer
ANGEL ESPINO AKA THE JACKAL
Call In Number – 786 484-3633

TOPIC: – HUNGRY? – IF SO IT’S TIME TO DINE WITH THE GODS

SPECIAL GUEST # 1 – JOSHUA CUTCHIN

Our guest tonight has a reputation for being a blowhard.

Joshua Cutchin began playing tuba at age 12. Five years later, he appeared on NBC’s Today Show with Sam Pilafian and Patrick Sheridan; the year after, he enrolled in the University of Wisconsin, where he studied music performance under the eminent John Stevens and received his first instruction in jazz with Jim Doherty.

But we are not here today to talk about music, but instead the delicacies of food.
But this will not be your normal trip to MacBurger, but instead we will dine with the “gods.”

Joshua Cutchin has served as Public Affairs Director of the University of Georgia Hugh Hodgson School of Music for three years. During his tenure at UGA, Joshua has authored over one hundred articles, press releases, and blog posts. In addition to appearing in local media, his press releases have also been referenced and distributed by such media outlets as the Associated Press and National Public Radio. Before his time at UGA, Joshua provided content for the Georgia Symphony Orchestra (Marietta, GA), Athens Banner-Herald (Athens, GA), Walton Tribune (Monroe, GA), and Observer News Enterprise (Newton, NC).

Joshua has appeared on a variety of paranormal programs discussing his work, including Coast to Coast AM, Mysterious Universe, Binnall of America, and the Gralien Report. Just a few weeks ago , Anomalist Books released his first book, A Trojan Feast.

A Trojan Feast is a book like no other. Sandwiched between its covers you will read some succulent tales to make your mouth water. Accept food from faeries, and you’ll never escape their realm, according to European folklore. Accept food from Sasquatch and you will forever be trapped in the spirit world, according to indigenous North American tales. And today, abductees—at least those who have returned—often report being offered strange beverages from their captors. Are these similarities mere coincidence, or is something more at play?

In this outstanding example of scholarship on the unknown, Joshua Cutchin has created the world’s first survey and analysis of the food and drink offered by aliens, faeries, and Sasquatch. The offerings are often not what they appear to be: some liquids have healing or aphrodisiac qualities, some foods expand awareness, and there are ointments that reveal an invisible world.

Through his playful explorations of every possibility—from the outer regions of space to the inner sanctum of the human mind—A TROJAN FEAST offers new insight into our relationship with these strange creatures of the outer edge.

SPECIAL GUEST # 2
STEPHEN MILES LEWIS

SMiles Lewis has had a lifelong interest in all things anomalous. An early age proclivity at recalling his nightly dreams as well as several personal experiences with ESP, precognition and dream switching bolstered his interest in the paranormal. Shortly after high-school he joined the local MUFON chapter in Austin, Texas. He would later become a MUFON State Section Director for that group as well as leader of the local UFO Experiencer Support and Study Group. A lover of books, SMiles collected over 1000 titles before founding the non-profit Anomaly Archives that serves as the lending library of the Scientific Anomaly Institute (501c3). For over twenty years he has worked with digital audio, video and other bleeding edge internet technologies.

He has published his own print journal (E.L.F. Infested Spaces), edited a local paranormal newspaper (Austin Para Times), maintained a large network of websites (ELFIS.net), organized a national UFO conference (NUFOC-38), spoken to anthropologists about UFOs and parapsychology (Encounters with the Fantastic), hosted (and been a guest on) both terrestrial and webradio talk shows and has been podcasting since before the phrase existed. All these efforts and more have led radio talk show host Robert Larson to describe Miles as a “Gonzo Alt-Media Proprietor and Informationalist.” He is also the LOWFI-Texas State Bureau Chief of The League of Western Fortean Intermediatists.

SMiles’ current projects include co-hosting PsiOp-Radio with Mack White as part of the many unique shows airing daily on his ANOMALY RADIO Network.
He is active with several local non-profits which includes his service on the board of directors for the Institute for Neuroscience And Consciousness Studies (INACS) and the Scientific
Anomaly Institute‘s lending library, the Anomaly Archives.

Congrats to Russell Dowden on a year of publishing Rockstar Magazine!

Check out the 2-page spread on page 25. It’s a flashback retrospective on the long-strange trip from producing the conference program for the ill-fated 38th annual National UFO Conference slated for September 14-16th, 2001 and the launch of Austin Para Times, which became Weird Magazine, which got bought by Alex Jones, and morphed into InfoWars Magazine, and ultimately led Russell to briefly publish Paranoid Magazine and now for a year, Rockstar Magazine.

SMiles Lewis to interview Dr. Greg Little on UFOs and More, Wednesday Night

greg-little-ufo-trilogy

Dr. Greg Little is our Guest on Anomaly Radio LIVE 2/12/14 at 7pm

dr-greg-littlePsychologist, Paranormal Investigator, Ancient Mystery Explorer, Documentary Filmmaker, UFO Theorist, Author and More … Dr. Greg Little will be our guest Wednesday night, February 21st, 2014 at 7pm CST via www.AnomalyRadio.com

You can find links to his many articles online at the ALTERNATE PERCEPTIONS website:

I first became aware of Dr. Greg Little’s work in the early 1990s. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed everything of his I’ve read and feel his first three UFO books are an important contribution to the field. His first effort, The Archetype Experience, focused on Jung’s ideas about synchronicity and the archetypes. His second effort, People of the Web, brought in his emerging interest in Native American mound-builder cultures. His third contribution, Grand Illusions, rounded out this trilogy, incorporating Near Death Experiences, Earth Lights and Earth Energies research, and much more!

Since that time, Greg has continued exploring earth’s mysteries, publishing The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Native American Mounds & Earthworks, and other important research into the Native American mound-building cultures, the work of Edgar Cayce, locating evidence of ancient civilizations such as Atlantis, finding lost planes in the Bermuda Triangle, and much much more!

The the link and excerpt below you can read my previous review of his book Grand Illusions as well as a portion of my 2011 UFO lecture in which I describe his ideas about Jung, Synchronicity, and the Archetypes.

I hope you’ll tune in to the show this Wednesday night.

 – SMiles Lewis

Carl Jung: Synchronicity, Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious

Gregory L. Little –“Materialized Archetypal Splinters”
“Synchronicity is a special condition of awareness that results from energization of the mandala archetype.”

  • “Human dilemma” of our tech outpacing our ability to control it
  • Jung: Archetypes independent, autonomous entities with will of their own
  • Trickster archetype within the Mothmanflap
  • John Keel’s 8th-Tower and human automatons tuned into evil field
  • Synchronistic phenomena include the UFO haystack and parapsychologicalmanifestations and are the root energeticsof all paranormal phenomena

 (Video / Audio / Link)

… I really like books with long subtitles, and there is a really slim book – it’s one of the slimmest books I’ve ever seen – on the UFO subject.  It seems to really be the best at quantifying Jung’s ideas about UFO’s and puts forth an idea that I think may in fact be darn close to the mark.  That is Dr. Greg Little’s book, The Archetype Experience: Resolving the UFO Mystery and the Riddle of Biblical Prophesy Using C.G. Jung’s Concept of Synchronicity.  I don’t know if he solves the riddle of biblical prophecy, but the book basically puts forth this idea that there are what he calls materialized archetypal splinters.

He basically points out that the archetypes represent polar opposites.  It’s often said that 80% of UFO’s are in fact IFO’s, misidentifications of identifiable objects, if you just have enough information.  Well, he suggests that that UFO haystack, that 80% of those misidentifications are an integral part of the UFO phenomenon, that it’s those misperceptions that often can trigger the same kind of experience that he thinks is a contacting of something alien or other.  His idea is basically that when someone sees a UFO, if there is a corresponding bubbling up in that person of one of the archetypes, that’s what will sync that person with the phenomenon and make it something significant for them, in other words, that will create a meaningful coincidence, a synchronicity that will then imbue that experience with meaning.

Now, this can happen, and I’ve seen it described in many other cases from researchers like Jenny Randles and others where the perception of a known IFO, something that’s just absolutely verifiable, they did not see anything more than a mundane object, but they perceived it as something extra mundane, and they seem to have had one of these experiences.  That’s just the 80% haystack part of this.  That other smaller percentage of true UFO encounters he believes are physical manifestations of Jung’s archetypes.  He envisages the archetypes as existing in what he describes as the super spectrum, those parts of the energy spectrum that we can’t see with our normal eyes.  We have a lot of equipment to detect and perceive radio waves and television waves and infrared and ultraviolet, but those are all part of the same spectrum of energy that we’re all bathed in and meshed in.

Just like John Keel suggested that the dematerialization we see of UFO’s could simply be them moving through that portion of the visible light spectrum that our eyes can see before they move back into either end of the spectrum, the ultraviolet or the infrared.  Dr. Greg Little believes that these archetypes are autonomous and have a will of their own.  Again, he is giving his interpretation of Jung’s ideas of synchronicity, the collective unconscious, and archetypes.  There are a lot of people that would probably disagree with him, but I’ve also found a lot of other researchers that seem to agree with more or less the same idea, even without knowing anything about Dr. Greg Little.

Dr. Little is, I believe, a psychiatrist psychologist.  He works in the prisons.  He works with inmates.  He is also very much into Edgar Cayce.  He is into the Native American mound culture that dots the American countryside.  He’s a very interesting fellow, and I don’t agree with all of his ideas, but I think he’s on to something here.  He’s one of the perspectives that I think some folks might want to check out more.

War over Lemuria: Richard Shaver, Ray Palmer and the Strangest Chapter of 1940s Science Fiction by Richard Toronto

Need to get this book …

Life magazine described the Shaver Mystery as “the most celebrated rumpus that rocked the science fiction world.” Its creators said it was a “new wave in science fiction.” Critics called it “dangerous nonsense” and labeled its fans the lunatic fringe. Whatever else the Shaver Mystery was, it became a worldwide sensation between 1945 and 1948, one of the greatest controversies to hit the science fiction genre. Today these stories of the remnants of a sinister ancient civilization living in caverns under the Earth are an all but forgotten sidebar to the historical record. The Shaver Mystery began as a series of science fiction yarns in Amazing Stories nearly 70 years ago. The men behind it, Ray Palmer and Richard Shaver, were derided and seldom understood by a fandom that did its best to sweep them under the carpet of history. Though Ray Palmer was one of the earliest and biggest names in SF fandom, credited with many firsts in his field, his fannish brethren have roundly ignored him, thanks to the Shaver Mystery. What is the truth behind these men and their “mystery”? This is the question writers and editors that promoted the Shaver Mystery try to answer as they reveal the behind-the-scenes story of the phenomenon known as “Shaverism.”

Tributes to Supreme Commander Moseley from several UFOlks including Greg Bishop, Tim Beckley, Antonio Huneeus, George Hansen, Tim Brigham, Gene Steinberg, Allen Greenfield, Rick Hilberg, Ed Biebel, T. N. Hackney, Steamshovel Press’s Kenn Thomas, Ed Komarek, FATE magazine’s Phyllis Galde, and Adam Gorightly. Hail, Hail, The Gang’s All Here! – Remembering The Trickster of UFOlogy, Jim Moseley
By Sean Casteel

The “old guard” of UFOlogy is quickly passing away before our very eyes. First there was John Keel, then Richard Hall, Ingo Swann, George Fawcett and most recently a man who remained for many years one of the most controversial and influential figures in all of UFO-dom, a personality who many loved and others equally despised.

When James W. Moseley passed away on November 16, 2012, at a hospital in Key West, Florida, he left behind a great many friends to mourn him. Though his name may be unfamiliar to the younger members of the UFO community today, he was for many years a most provocative voice in the field of UFOlogy, known for being a comic trickster as well as a serious researcher of flying saucer and paranormal phenomena who broke new ground in coverage of the subjects with his publications “Saucer News” and “Saucer Smear.”

In memory of his departed friend, Timothy Green Beckley of Global Communications has recently published “The Astounding UFO Secrets of James W. Moseley, A Special Tribute To The Editor Of ‘Saucer Smear’ And The Court Jester Of UFOlogy.” The book includes the full text of “UFO Crash Secrets At Wright-Patterson Air Force Base,” a first-person account by Moseley of his investigations into numerous UFO-related incidents that also highlights his feisty attitude toward his fellow researchers and their continual disagreements over what to believe in a field where concrete evidence is almost impossible to find.

But Beckley, who is listed as the editor on the cover of the tribute book, begins things with a series of memories from those who knew and admired Moseley, all of whom have their own unique stories to tell about the jokester and his long history in UFOlogy. Beckley’s lifelong relationship with Moseley began in the early to mid-1960s when Beckley was still in his teens and an avid listener to the all night radio talk show hosted by Long John Nebel. Nebel often covered UFOs and other strange subjects, and Moseley was a frequent guest on the program. Moseley used the show to promote his monthly UFO meetings in the rather seamy Times Square area of Manhattan, and Beckley was a regular attendee. Beckley was so young at the time that he needed his brother-in-law to accompany him in the journey from New Jersey to the Port Authority in New York and on to the meetings.

Flashback to NUFOC 38: Austin Daze Volume #2, Issue #12 – September 2001

FLASHBACK: In early 2001 I was actively promoting the then upcoming 38th Annual National UFO Conference that I was Hosting and Organizing for a 3 day / 3 night ParaUfological Extravaganza here in Austin at the Original Alamo Drafthouse cinema. It was “The Best UFO Conference nEver!” … it was canceled due to the terrible events of September 11th.

The following article appeared in the 12th issue of Austin Daze – a very Austin publication that has thrived ever since. I don’t recall the author’s name, the article credits him only as “D”… but we met in his East Austin abode and discussed all manner of strange subject matter. His excellent stream of consciousness, gonzo-style approach to his writing was mirrored in the funkiness and fun of our actual meeting. I wonder what he’s been up to since …

So now, presented here for archival purposes, is the text, cover and a PDF of the Austin Daze issue featuring pre-NUFOC event coverage.

Austin Daze Volume #2, Issue #12 – September 2001 –  austindazevol2iss12-2001 pdf

austindazevol2iss12-2001

It was late and I was anxious to get home. The day had been rough, and I was looking forward to a hot dinner, a cold brew, a lukewarm shower… and maybe, if I played my cards right, a clandestine midnight romp, a hairdresser with blue eyes and sturdy hips and a taste for decadence. I goose the truck along and curse the length of the road and bop to ‘jamming oldies’, whatever that is.

The Toyota stalls out and rolls to a stop smack dab in the middle of a railroad crossing. Wonderful. Dinner and suds and cleanliness are suddenly a long shot, and the odds on snatch are totally off the board at this point. Then the lightshow commences and the bells start clanging and big pieces of wood with orange stripes begin to descend towards my ride.

Just fucking great. I throw the truck into neutral, leap out and start heaving… touch and go for a moment, but I manage to get the bitch off the tracks and rolled back into a ditch before the hammers fall. I spit. I search my vocabulary for the proper adjectives to describe the situation. The wind begins raging around me. Beautiful… a goddamn storm to boot. I turn around and the big lights wash over me and then I don’t remember.

I am lying naked on a table. There are wires hooked up to my head and face and hands. I am bleeding from an incision in my stomach. There is something cold and hard up my butt. A deep hum resonates from the room, and long sickly fingers hover over my body. I weigh a million pounds, immobile. There are voices, but they are gravelly and whiny and weird, and I don’t understand them. A horrific face appears above me and I pass out again.

An alien abduction? Exhaustion coupled with drugs? Self-hypnosis? Manifestation of the collective mythos? Hallucination directed by an out-ward power? Who the fuck knows, eh? It’s fairly certain that something happened, and there are a lot of explanations floating around out there.

Weird paranormal shit descends onto the global population in regular fashion. It is well documented and well studied and we still don’t really know jack. With that said, let me introduce…

The 38th Annual National UFO Conference. That’s right, boys and girls. September 14-16 at the Alamo Drafthouse, and Austin Daze has man-aged to gain full press coverage of said event.

And this reporter has managed to gain a pre-event interview with King Bullgoose Loony in Charge of Everything, Austin’s own Miles Lewis.

It was a strange night and Miles is a weird guy. I had my consciousness bent on not a few moments, and I was left to ponder a bunch of shit during the wee hours. We set up in my studio, and I had tape running, but it didn’t really matter. I was expecting arcane reports and outlandish testimonials, but the gig went side-ways on me almost immediately.

I felt like an idiot for most of the conversation. Miles would ask me if I was familiar with the writings of soandso or the research of soandso or the study by soandso or the findings of thisorthat commission or the data compiled concerning thisorthat event. I just nodded and reached for beer. Jesus. Interviewing the President was a cakewalk compared to this shit. Dubya is dumb and mean and easily handled by a cagey reporter who can hold some beer. Miles is off-the-board smart and well-informed to boot. And he had disturbing tales to tell.

My main impression is this: UFO is a misnomer to the highest degree. The serious work being done in the field has little or nothing to do with small green men in flying saucers. There is still that contingent, and it gets a lot of sensational press, but the true intelligentsia are off into way heavier stuff.

The government conspiracy theories are a given. Of course the Feds know more than they let on. Of course they lie to you. Of course they experiment on citizens and cover-up knowledge. We’ll get an earful of that at the conference.. CIA dudes and NSC dudes and various other G-men will be in attendance.

It is the other coca that is fascinating, however. The mystery of ELF (Extra Low Frequency) Waves, invisible, capable of causing change in machines and weather and the human brain–the Saint’ theories, the Earth as a collective organism, spouting out communiques and warnings via individual experience–the role of media and science and government and academia in exerting and control-ling the direction of global consciousness–There are a lot of posers out there, boys and girls, and the people looking into it are most often shunned, shunted, jeered and generally held down by The Man. Nothing happens in a vacuum, as they say, and there is a reason for everything. The NUFOC gang is chasing those reasons for no money and a lot of shitrain. It’s worth a fucking listen.

The conference features heavyweights like Robert Anton Wilson (best-selling author of the ‘Illuminati’ stuff and paranormal researcher), Jenny Randles (Britain’s leading ufologist), Loren Coleman (world-renowned cryptozoologist), Kenn Thomas (para-political investigator), and many more. Hell, I’m gonna show just to find out what terms like ‘cryptozoology’ and ‘para-political’ actually mean. I’m also gonna drink beer and eat pizza and hit on weird chicks, but I figure I can fit it all in.

But wait, there’s more. Alien cuisine (your guess is as good as mine), psychotronic music (the Galactic Diva Pamela Stonebrooke, Experimental Aircraft, 5ciBorg Sam and the Automatons, and PONG! ((hint: this is the band formerly known as Ed Hall)) ((yaya))), and a collection of funky films, some serious, some tongue in cheek, but the name Wilhelm Reich ought to jump out at you. From 1971, no less. The gig is gonna rock.

But here’s the biggie, at least for me. There’s gonna be a chick there who hod sex with a reptilian alien… and totally dug it. My mind immediately went into high gear when I heard that one. I’ve gottago for it. Being alone and naked in bed with a woman who has done a lizard from some other part of the universe is an experience I want to have. Definitely come out to the conference, but back off on the reptile chick.

I’m calling dibs now… D

PS Miles is throwing this shindig out of his own pocket, floating checks, hammering credit cards, etc. He’s flying in these high profile cats from around the globe, hiring bands, renting films, taking over the Alamo, fronting hotel rooms and food, etc. It’s a twisted Austin flavor artistic endeavor, and it needs your support. A full day or two or even the whole weekend will be worth the bucks… new theories to make you look smart in front of your friends and family, off-the-wall film, other-worldly food and bent experimental music. Decent. But I’m serious about the lizard lady.

Hands off… D

Flashback: Guide to Para Texas

In late 2001, in the wake of September 11th, a new publication was born out of fear for our Republic and a need to communicate the weirdness of post-911 life to our Central Texas friends, family and neighbors.Austin Para Times issue 3 cover

From early 2002 to mid 2003 I was editor of the Austin Para Times news-zine. We covered a variety of paranormal and parapolitical issues and topics.

I left the magazine to finally start my non-profit community lending library, the Anomaly Archives.

In issue #3, I wrote an article as my alter-ego Jackson Valient (with co-writer Yogina Bare … another pseudononymous author and fellow fringe explorer) that serves as an introduction to all things anomalous here in Central Texas.

I offer it here for archival purposes and as part of my personal introduction to our new audience within the LOWFI network.
